Lorraine Higgins lives & works in her studio-gallery in Cromwell, Central Otago.  Her work is exhibited in galleris throughout New Zealand.

Lorraine is an artist who uses paint as a vehicle to express the tangible and the non-tangible.  Gestural spontaneous mark-makingare sometimes directly applied straight from the tube and then scratched and scraped into her various surface - whether this be paper, board or canvas.

Lorraine holds a BVA Post Graduate Diploma in teaching, and a Dip Min - she has been awarded various art awards and has of late started to write her own poetry.

Hihhins is known for her beautiful palette, her semi-abstract land-forms and now her more floral works.
